Nicky Hayden: Ex-MotoGP champion in hospital after cycling accident in Italy

Previous MotoGP champion Nicky Hayden has been injured after he was hit by an auto while cycling in Italy.

The 35-year-old, who has been hustling for Red Bull Honda's World Superbike group this year, is being dealt with at a healing facility in Cesena.

The American contended in the most recent round of the World Superbike title in Italy last Sunday.

He won his lone MotoGP title in 2006, keeping Valentino Rossi from winning a 6th consecutive title.
