Amitabh Bachchan was asked about Aishwarya Rai’s ‘suicide attempt’. This is how he reacted

For the last few days, social media has been abuzz with hoax news of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan committing suicide. Despite the fact that the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil star put in an appearance at Manish Malhotra’s birthday bash, the viral news went on spreading. The news apparently originated in Pakistan and suggested that Aishwarya committed suicide by taking sleeping pills due to “marital woes.”

On Monday, as Amitabh Bachchan attended a press conference to launch Himesh Reshammiya’s music album, a scribe asked Big B about this viral hoax involving his daughter-in-law. The actor’s response was epic. He simply looked and smiled and refused a comment.

While the question sparked murmurs among those present, the actor royally ignored the journalist and maintained his usual, gracious smile before turning towards another scribe, who had asked him a question about Himesh’s album.

A death hoax involving a Bollywood actor is nothing new. Before Aishwarya, Amitabh himself has been the target of such stories. Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanthand Dilip Kumar are among others who faced death hoaxes. In the West, Morgan Freeman and Sylvester Stallone also had to dismiss their death hoaxes.
At the event, Big B did speak at length about Himesh, whose album Aap Se Mausiiqui he was there to launch. Heaping praise on Himesh, Bachchan said, “He is multi-talented. He sings, acts, composes music, which is one of the most difficult things to do. I am not as talented as him so, I don’t know why have I been called to unveil this album!”

An elated Himesh requested Bachchan to mouth his famous Kabhi Kabhie dialogue. “It was my dream to share the stage with Mr Bachchan. I feel blessed that he is here to launch the album and give us his wishes. I want to request him to recite the famous poetry from Kabhi Kabhie, my day will be made,” Himesh said before Bachchan fulfilled his request and recited two lines from the poetry, drawing applause from the audience.
